A Huntingdon-based printed clothing shop has donated more than 11 different items of warm clothing for people who are sleeping rough.

Expertees, in Stukeley Road, has donated jumpers, fleeces, hats and other warm clothing to Wintercomfort, a Cambridge-based charity, to help keep homeless people warm.

Debra Stuart, managing director of Expertees, said: “We often take for granted the many luxuries we have; food, warmth and a roof over our head. The team here wanted to do something meaningful this year to make a genuine difference. So we bagged up our surplus stock as well as buying other items and donated all this to a hugely deserving and worthwhile charity.”

Members of the team delivered the items on March 1 and helped the Wintercomfort team to serve breakfast from their base on Victoria Avenue.

Sarah Halls, director of Wintercomfort said: “We were very pleased to welcome the team and volunteers from Expertees along with their donations this week, with this current cold weather we have been delighted to receive so much public support. We are constantly overwhelmed with the level of generosity from the Cambridge community.”

Last year, Wintercomfort supported 763 individuals and received more than 22,000 visits and say they believe the number of people sleeping rough is only going to increase.
