A cafe run by people with disabilities and learning difficulties has received a £370 donation from the organisers of Hartford’s community autumn fair.
The Dreamers Bar at Huntingdon Youth Centre in Sallowbush Road was presented with a cheque earlier this month.
Groups involved in the fundraiser, held at Hartford Village Hall in October, included All Saints’ Church, Hartford Conservation Group, Hartford Art Group and All Saints’ Mothers’ Union.
The cafe is open on Tuesday mornings and run by young people, serving cakes and other refreshments. There is also a pool table and other games.
Lydia Eldridge, project co-ordinator, said: “The Dreamers are over the moon. They are so grateful for this cheque, as this keeps the cafe going, as for the last three and half years, it’s been down to the generosity of local groups and funders that has kept the cafe open.”
