A PROLIFIC Huntingdon burglar who was arrested six days after being handed a suspended sentence has been sent back to prison.

Joseph Lamb, 21, of Sapley Park, was jailed for two years and three months today (Thursday) at Huntingdon Crown Court for burglary.

He was arrested on August 28 in connection with a number of burglaries in the Huntingdon area.

Six days earlier he had been released from custody after receiving a suspended sentence for burglary.

Lamb was charged with a burglary in Nelson Road on August 27 and a further two burglaries in the town were taken into account.

He had pleaded guilty at a previous hearing.

Pc Kelly Manchett said: “This case shows that if we believe a convicted criminal will continue offending that we will relentlessly target them.

“Within days of Lamb being handed a suspended sentence he was back to his old ways and committing burglaries and I hope today’s sentence sends out a strong message that this will not be tolerated.”
