A MAN is in a serious but stable condition in hospital following an assault in Huntingdon.
Police were called to concerns for a man in the grounds of St Mary’s Church at about 2am on Sunday (April 8).
Officers attended and discovered a 35-year-old man unconscious. He was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
He remains serious but stable at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
Detective Constable Suzanne Pickard, investigating, said: “The victim suffered very serious injuries and is still in hospital.
“The area was busy at the time and I would urge anyone with information to contact police.”
