Dr Chan Abraham, of Daybreak Ministries, who coordinated the walk said, All the churches are delighted to have had the opportunity to share something of the hope and faith that Easter. Shoppers and walkers were able to enjoy the event together. This was a community event, open to all, regardless of belief and weve received some great feedback, both from individuals and through social media. The theme for the Walk of Witness is the seven words of Jesus from the cross and the walkers progressed from Huntingdon Methodist Church, to St Marys Church and on to St Benedicts Court, Huntingdon and the Market Square. Refreshments and hot cross buns were served in All Saints Church and at each point there was a Bible reading relating to the theme, songs led by Mandy Abraham and Samuel Greenfield, on guitar, and Dr Abraham gave a brief talk on each of the statements made by Jesus on the cross. Dr Abraham added: Its a mark of how successful this event was that people were saying afterwards they would like to see something similar arranged more frequently. Whether that happens or not, Churches Together in Huntingdon and Godmanchester is committed to continue to work for the wellbeing and inspiration of our communities.
