The annual event returned to the town’s corn exchange on Saturday and saw eager entrants prepare, preen, and polish their produce ready for display and judging.

A colourful array of fruits and vegetables sat alongside crafts, jams, preserves, cut flowers, photography, and baked items as the best the town had to offer was presented.

Richard Weightman, a member of the organising team, said: “Everybody really enjoyed the day. The weather was great and we had a lot of people come through the doors to have a look around, too.”

The RHS Banksian Medal, for the most points in the vegetable, fruit, and cut flower classes, was won by Giuseppe Videtti, while the Holmes Trophy – the overall prize for the most points accrued across all classes - was won by Jude Ongeri with 36 points.
