HOT tubs, a sauna and a gym could be included in plans for a new outdoor swimming pool in St Neots.
HOT tubs, a sauna and a gym could be included in plans for a new outdoor swimming pool in St Neots.
The proposals are moving forward with the former pool site in Huntingdon Street up for sale and hopes for a replacement pool to be under-construction within 18 months.
The St Neots Swimming Pool Trust, which is responsible for the former pool site, is currently marketing the Huntingdon Street land.
Councillor Paul Ursell, chairman of the trust, said they had received “three unsolicited offers” on the site.

He added that to make the new swimming pool viable the trust was considering introducing “extras” such as a gym, sauna and hot tubs.
“We want to provide something that is vibrant but also viable so that we do not run at huge losses,” he said. “We’re pleased with the progress being made.”

The trust hopes to build a pool costing “no less than 1million” to replace the facility that was closed in 2004 for health and safety reasons.
The nearest outdoor pool to the town is the Lido in Bishop Road, Peterborough, which last year attracted more than 28,000 swimmers.
A spokesman for the Peterborough Culture and Leisure Trust, which owns the pool, said the facility “like other many other pools, is hugely subsidised”.
Cllr Ursell said the trust had identified some land for the new pool but would not reveal its location.
The swimming pool trust will meet again next month.
