There was a happy ending for a horse in St Neots yesterday (Thursday) after it was rescued from a ditch by firefighters.
One crew from St Neots and a rescue vehicle from Cambridge were called to help the stricken horse, named Matty, at about 8am from a field near Wintringham.
Firefighters worked with a farmer and used heavy machinery to create a route from the ditch to lead the animal out.
After successfully leading the horse from the ditch, he was left in the care of his owner, before crews returned to their stations by about 10am.
