Hundreds of residents in Huntingdonshire are without power tonight (Sunday) after an electrical fault plunged homes into darkness.

UK Power Networks said a fault had occurred “on a piece of our electrical equipment which controls the power to your home”.

Post codes affected included PE29 3 and PE18 6 – which includes Huntingdon, Kimbolton, Southoe and Spaldwick.

A spokesman said: “There is currently a power cut in this area. Our engineers are working hard to fix it as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any trouble this may have caused you.”

It is predicted that power will return by 9.30pm, with the fault reported at about 6.30pm.
