Pupils of Holywell Primary School will be joining thousands of youngsters from across the country tomorrow to perform alongside Britain’s Got Talent star Connie Talbot at the London O2 Arena.

The 73-strong choir from Holywell have been rehearsing since Christmas for the Young Voices 2012 show. Among the songs they are set to perform at tomorrow’s show are familiar tunes from children’s films, a Queen medley and even a song in Latin.

Ten-year-old Connie, who shot to fame after appearing in Britain’s Got Talent 2007, will be joining them on stage for the performance. Around 80 parents will also journey with the choir to London to watch the concert.

Deputy headteacher Claire MacDonald said: “We have been rehearsing weekly since before Christmas and the children are so excited to perform. We took part in the St Ives Big Sing last year with 30 children, so this is a much bigger scale event, and we could not let the opportunity to sing in the Arena pass us by.”

nAround 50 pupils from Elsworth Primary School were due to perform at a Young Voices concert today in London. It is the first time Elsworth Primary School have taken part in the concert.
