Patients spending Christmas Day in Hinchingbrooke Hospital are set to benefit from a festive appeal launched by staff at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and The Hunts Post.
The Love from Lapland campaign aims to spread some festive magic throughout the hospital by ensuring that every patient, from newborns and their parents to the elderly, will receive a gift on Christmas Day.
Jo Bennis, chief nurse at the trust, said: “For some patients, Christmas can be a particularly lonely time, especially if they do not have any visitors or family nearby to visit them in hospital. We want to brighten their day and show them they can still be part of the festivities despite being an inpatient.”
You can make the day a little bit more special by picking up an extra book, toiletries set, game, DVD or toy and dropping it into The Hunts Post.
