Pupils and staff at Hemingford Grey Primary School have been presented with a coveted Green Flag Award.
The award, the school’s second, recognises green initiatives, which are driven by a pupil-led Eco Committee. Green Flags are awarded for two years, after which schools have to re-apply.
The school’s grounds team leader, Karen Bowtell, said: “I am very proud of the continued commitment, support and hard work we have received from children, staff and parents at the school.
“Particular thanks must go to the Eco Committee and the Bike Crew as it is very hard to get a Green Flag and a lot of commitment and hard work is needed to keep it.”
The school is planning to start work on a new outside area, which will include an allotment and greenhouse.
