After two years of hard work, the £23,000 refurbishment of Hemingford Pavilion has been completed.

The end of the work, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, the AmeyCespa Community Fund and the Hemingford Peace Memorial Field Trustees, was marked at a ceremony at the pavilion on Friday (March 22).

John Jenkin, vice-chairman of the memorial trustees, said: “To mark the completion of the refurbishment the Hemingford Peace Memorial Field Trustees wanted to recognise the late Dr Chris Page, who served as secretary to the trustees for more than 30 years, by renaming the Manor Room the Chris Page Room as a lasting memorial to his good work.

“The room was opened in his name by his granddaughters Daisey, Lowry and Maddy in front of a large audience who gathered to celebrate a person who worked tirelessly for the Peace Memorial Field and many village organisations.”
