Spring is nearly here as is the chance to sponsor a bird box on Holt Island.
The St Ives nature reserve has started its annual Adoptabox scheme to help boost the island’s birdlife.
Ian Jackson, Friends of Holt Island chairman, said: “We have 26 bird boxes waiting for new tenants and sponsors. Choose a box number, send us £10, we will do the rest. You could get a blue or great tit, robin, treecreeper or Tawny owl in your box.”
Sponsors receive an adoption certificate, map, news updates and pictures of their box’s birds’ progress.
In May, there’s a guided walk to see the boxes and learn about this year’s breeding season. INFORMATION: Forms are available from Daniel Rowe on 07748 157702 or daniel.rowe14@virginmedia.com.
