A St Neots-based solicitor took part in Sunday’s London Marathon as part of a fund-raising team that raised thousands of pounds for charity.
This year’s event was officially the hottest on record with peak temperatures of 24 degrees for the 40,000 runners.
Hannah Byatt, director and head of family law at Jeffrey Mills Solicitors, ran for Team Emilio, which raised £3,000 for the charity.
Team Emilio was set up by Eaton Ford couple Mel and Jose Saavedra, whose son Emilio was diagnosed with a genetic condition called Neuroflbromatosis, which creates tumours on the nerves, in 2013.
Team Emillio members raise awareness about the condition and also money for The Neuro Foundation through a variety of events, including running and an annual Butterfly Kisses Ball.
“Myself and the team trained really hard for the event, but the heatwave made the race a lot more difficult. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me, I am hugely grateful.”
