GOING, GOING, GONE: Punters in Huntingdonshire might have thought they were seeing double, or rather triple, on Saturday, when they witnessed not just one or two but three bungee-jumping dinner ladies.

Lorraine Leverton, 44, a dinner lady at Westfield School in St Ives jumped 200 feet from a crane at the Seven Wives pub in St Ives for Help for Heroes.

Meanwhile Julie Ward, 43, and Nikki Byatt, 42, both dinner ladies at Bushmead Primary School, did the same jump from the White Horse pub car park in Eaton Socon.

Eleven people – seven men and four women – took part in the bungee jump challenge in the Seven Wives pub’s car park, which ran from 4pm to 6pm on Saturday and raised, it is thought, around 1,500 for the armed forces charity.

Twenty people took part in the jump at the White Horse pub from 7pm to 9pm, which raised 600 for the Friends of Bushmead School.
