THE post office at Great Stukeley is the only branch in Huntingdonshire which is not set to receive any additional services.
Postmaster Alec Snitch, who has run the branch from his own home for 16 years, said: "It is so disappointing and I feel that there is nothing we can do.
"The decision has been made somewhere else, by people we have never met and before we even knew a decision was being made. I have had to lie to my customers, which has been extremely hard.
"The majority of our customers are elderly and I am desperately sorry for them. It will impact on everybody."

Terry Pinner, the chairman of The Stukeleys Parish Council, said: "It is the sense of community that we will miss. Alec's shop is the eyes and ears of the village and where we can get to know our neighbours.
"Of course we will oppose the closure, but I fear we will be bottom of the list.
