Ian, a finalist in 2015, was one of the judges at a Cake, Bake and Craft Day at Loves Farm House, which raised money for the Free Cakes for Kids charity. Iona Wilson, who helped to organise the event, said: It went really well, we were really pleased with the selection of cakes and Ian was lovely and happy to chat to everyone. He told us he has been watching the Great British Bake Off and he feels for the contestants as he knows how nervous they will be feeling. More than 30 cakes were entered on the day, including a treasure chest, an autumn log and a potted cactus. The winning star baker accolade was awarded for a lemon and poppy seed drizzle cake. We managed to raise £244 for the charity and we hope next years event will be even bigger, said Iona.
