Since her first birthday Daisy Bell, of Bradshaw Close, and her family, has been asking for funds for the Holly Ward after she was treated by staff when she was born, and last Sunday was no different. We are so very proud that Daisy wants to give donations to the Holly Ward as we are eternally gratefully to them, said mum, Sianade Bell. They have saved her life a couple of times and without them we wouldnt have Daisy. After we came out of the Holly Ward we knew we wanted to give something back to the staff. The Thongsley Fields school pupil was born with meningitis and suffers from hydrocephalus and has undergone nine brain surgeries, including operations for a shunt fitted to relieve the pressure of fluid on the brain. So far Daisy and her family have raised more than £3,600 for the ward thanks to donations from friends and family from her birthday parties. During the party, which this year was a penguin theme, there were a host of childrens games and also a raffle and prizes. All donations from this years party have now been taken to the hospital, following the familys tradition to help the ward.
