The £500 raised from Sundays event at Grafham Water will go towards a high-tech ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM) for the Spinney Surgery in St Ives. The GP practice, in Ramsey Road, saw the BHF had raised over £2,500 for the nearby Cromwell Place Surgery and wrote to the charity to ask them for help raising the funds for the equipment. Surgeries can write to us and ask for help and we will do our best to raise the money, said Jean Chandler, from the St Ives and district branch of the charity. The Santa jog went very well and the people who came loved the Father Christmas costumes, which we gave out for free. There were six or seven young people from Hinchingbrooke School and it was kind of them to join in. Everyone was so generous. Other activities planned to help raise the rest of the money include collections to coincide with Heart Week in February 2013 and a charity golf event in Brampton.INFORMATION: To get involved, call Jean Chandler on 01480 469557.
