Fresh from a record year of fundraising, Mayor of Huntingdon Councillor Bill Hensley is inviting applications from charities and good causes to support in 2015/16 – but you’ll have to be quick because the deadline is tomorrow (Friday, June 5).
Cllr Hensley was re-elected as the civic representative for the town last month for a third time, after two consecutive years in the role.
Last year, he and his fundraising team raised £20,638, which was divided between eight charities.
Now Cllr Hensley is keen to hear from six different causes that he can back over the next 12 months.
Chairman of the mayor’s fundraising committee, Doug McIlwain, said: “We would like applications from charities, as well as small groups, as long as the benefit goes towards the people of the town of Huntingdon.
“We want groups to get involved with the fundraising as a joint venture between the mayor’s team and themselves.”
To apply, send details of the organisation, with a brief overview of its function, by emailing Marilyn.Simpson@huntingdontown.gov.uk, write to Marilyn Simpson, Mayor’s Secretary, Huntingdon Town Council, Town Hall, Market Hill, Huntingdon PE29 3PJ or call 01480 411883.
Entries must be received by 3pm tomorrow (Friday, June 5).
