St Neots Golf Club presented St John’s Hospice, in Moggerhanger, with a cheque for more than £11,000.
Club captain Chris Flack, ladies’ captain Maria Marsh and seniors’ captain Ernie Scutt joined together to raise a total of £11,325 for the charity, which provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care.
The club held two main fundraising events – an auction where members donated items such as golf vouchers, a meal, wine and champagne flutes, raising £6,574.28. The ladies’ section held a raffle with prizes such as kitchen equipment, which contributed £1,720. Additional money was raised at smaller events and through donations, including £460 from the seniors’ section and £750 from Barclays bank’s charity matching scheme.
