THREE men responsible for a doorstep shooting in Godmanchester have been jailed for a total of more than 28 years.

Harry Beddoes, 24, and Travis Pratt, 29, the two men who used a sawn-off shotgun to shoot a housesitter at a property in Anderson Crescent, were sentenced to 13 years and seven-and-a-half years respectively.

Martin Hunt, 57, who drove the pair from Northamptonshire, was jailed for eight years.

A 41-year-old man was shot in the thigh with a sawn-off shotgun in the incident, which at around 9.30pm on June 1 of last year.

Pratt and Beddoes attempted to barge into the house and became involved in a scuffle with the man, during which the shotgun was discharged.

They then both fled in the car driven by Hunt and returned to Northamptonshire.

Beddoes and Hunt were both found guilty of conspiracy to possession of a firearm to endanger life after a week-long trial last month.

At an earlier hearing, Pratt had pleaded guilty to that charge, and charges of aggravated burglary and unlawful wounding. He was sentenced to five years for the aggravated burglary and two years for the unlawful wounding, to run concurrently.
