Godmanchester residents turned out in force and paraded through the town before the Remembrance Day service on Sunday.

They joined members of the Royal British Legion, the town council, Godmanchester WI, servicemen, Brownies, Guides, Rainbows, Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, the Comrades Club and other organisations.

The Reverend David Busk led the ceremony at the War memorial, on the corner of Post Street and The Avenue.

Councillor David Underwood, Mayor of Godmanchester, took a moment’s pause after laying a wreath in memory of those who had died for their country.

In the evening a second service was held at St Mary’s Church, where the names of the fallen were read out.
