Planners at Huntingdonshire District Council have granted planning, listed building and conservation area consents for a change of use, an enlargement of the kitchen and other alterations to the Grade II-listed building, including a new fume extraction system.
The changes include significant improvements to disabled access and alterations to parking arrangements.
Another St Neots pub, the Merry Boys, in Berkley Street, Eynesbury, is set to be demolished to make way for five new homes.
The applicant, GPS Properties, of Luton, has been given consent for two pairs of semi-detached houses and a single-storey barn-style two-bedroom home on the site of the pub, its car park and been garden.
They say it will be an “elegant quality development” within walking distance of the railway station, schools, parks and the town centre.
