The court heard from Richard Paul, who was a close friend of Mr Mechelewskis, who said he called Shepherd when he had not heard from Sam for two days. Mr Paul was contacted by Mr Mechelewskis father and they met at Wetherspoons in Huntingdon to discuss what happened. Jordan Shepherd also joined them. Mr Paul said: We were all quite upset in the pub, and when Jordan turned up he didnt really show any emotion. Ive never seen him upset so not sure how he would normally act. He said to me that Sam had been found in the park face down with blood all over his face. Mr Paul told the court how he estimated that Mr Mechelewski was making between £10,000 to £20,000 a month from selling cannabis, but wasnt sure how much money Shepherd was making.Sam Mechelewski was a sociable person who would talk to anyone his girlfriend has told Cambridge Crown Court.Megan Knight spoke emotionally as she gave her evidence on the first day of the trial on Thursday) and told the jury that she and Mr Mechelewski had a good relationship and how she had been with him hours before he was murdered. The court heard the pair had exchanged text messages on the night Mr Mechelewski died and Miss Knight said he seemed normal. They had been friends for about three years and had met through Facebook. Miss Knight admitted she knew about Mr Mechelewski being a drug dealer and he would sometimes give her cannabis. She said on the evening of January 31, she had sent Mr Mechelewski a text message at 6.02pm to arrange to meet for a walk and see the moon. Miss Knight said: It was meant to be a super blood moon or something like that, She then spoke about how they had walked around Huntingdon where the pair were seen on CCTV going into Sainsburys. When asked about Mr Mechelewskis behaviour that night she said: He seemed fine, no worse or better than usual. His usual self really. She confirmed that the pair decided to go their separate ways at about 8pm.Miss Knight continued her evidence today (Friday) and told the court that Mr Mechelewski and Jordon Shepherd were the best of friends who would call and text every day. Four days after the murder, Miss Knight and some friends, including Shepherd met to smoke cannabis and talk about what had happened to Sam, the court heard. Miss Knight said: Jordan did seem quite distant but he is usually one to watch and is quite quiet. He was also dissasoiated from conversations and just sat and watched.
