Giant vegetables, tasty preserves and handmade crafts all featured at this year’s Brampton Village Show which took place on Saturday.
The event, at the community centre in High Street, was organised by Billie Leighton, Anne Saunders and Pat Prince and included classes for: arts, cookery, fruit, vegetables, crafts, flowers, preserves and there were classes for children.
“It was just so lovely to see all the children walking in with the things they had made,” said Mrs Leighton who is also a parish councillor for Brampton.
“We had 62 adult exhibits and 26 for children, which included some huge vegetables and beautiful cakes and crafts so we were really pleased with the turnout and all the effort that people had made.”
Chris Pratt was awarded three first prizes for his carrots, tomatoes and flowers, Auguste Mimaite, Penny and Emilia Amos and Ruby Hebblethwaite all won prizes for crafts and flowers in the children’s class.
