At Abbey College, 54 per cent of students achieved 5 A*-C including English and maths.
The number of students achieving the C grade or above in the ‘English Baccalaureate’ subjects has improved for the third year running and now stands at 27 per cent, which is above the national average.
Head teacher, Andy Christoforou said: “This has been another very strong performance by our students and the overall figures included some highly impressive individual achievements.
“My congratulations go to our students and teachers. It is particular pleasing that we have had improving performance in geography (84%), history (74%) and religious education (74%).”
