MEMBERS and friends of the Holywell-cum-Needingworth Gardening Club visited the garden of fellow members Derek and Mary Broughton on June 30. Since their retirement, 10 years ago, Derek and Mary have planted an eclectic collection of tree and shrubs, including a strawberry tree and a handkerchief tree. To add to the interest and help people to identify the immature trees, Derek had put together a light-hearted cryptic quiz. After an hour of wandering around the extensive garden, members enjoyed tea and cake in the setting sunshine.
