Huntingdonshire was full of frightfully good spooks and ghouls for Hallowe’en at the weekend.
People got into the party spirit by being creative with their creepy costumes and increasingly intricate pumpkin carving.
In Huntingdon, staff at Tesco in Abbots Ripton Road dressed up on Friday and hosted a Hallowe’en fun day. Children had their faces painted and designed a trick or treat bag they could take home with them and use later. There was also a pocket magician doing up-close magic tricks.
At the Godmanchester HQ of Wood Green, The Animals Charity, those working in the cat section wore black cat costumes all weekend, highlighting the plight of the moggies of that colour which traditionally take longer to rehome.
The charity also held an “after dark” fun evening on Friday which included making trick or treat bags for guinea pigs and watching rats go pea bobbing. They also made witch hay kebabs for the rabbits and haunted hotels for the gerbils, and also listened to spooky stories.
