England cricket captain Charlotte Edwards MBE was joined by international teammate Jenny Gunn at Bushmead Primary School in Eaton Socon on Tuesday as part of a nationwide initiative to get girls playing cricket.
The Ashes stars took part in an assembly about cricket in the local area for pupils before putting Year 5 and 6 girls through their paces.
The visit was part of the Cricket Foundation’s Chance to Shine programme, helping girls gain a new found status in school when it comes to sport. The girls were split in to four teams for a tournament in which the winners lifted an Ashes-style trophy.
The cricketers were also at Ramsey Cricket Club where they coached a session with girls from Ashbeach and Upwood Primary Schools as well as the under 15s Girls team,
