The ‘Bradbury boys’ met staff from the charity at its base at RAF Wyton on Friday (June 27).

The day included a tour around the building, meeting the pilots and doctors and a look at the Magpas helicopter, which especially caught the attention of the gadget expert.

“It’s a real point of pride for this county,” Jason said. “I can guarantee most people don’t know Magpas exists and it’s great to meet the people that work hard here.”

As reported by The Hunts Post last week, the brothers will be completing an Olympic standard triathlon at the ExCel Centre in London on August 3 to raise money for Magpas.

The triathlon involves a 1.5km open-water swim, a 40km bike ride and a 10km run and is twice the length that either of them has competed in before.

Super-fit Jason said he was proud of his older brother, a partner at Thomas Morris Estate Agents, who couldn’t swim half-a-length before his training for the race.

After stubbing out his cigar and putting the cork back in the Chablis, Simon, 52, competed in the Blenheim Palace Triathlon in May and is finishing training for the ultimate challenge.

“The most difficult thing is the swimming – I could barely swim,” Simon said.

He has also had some help from Jason’s wife who has been advising on diet. But Simon believes it’s all a temporary blip in his lifestyle and he’ll soon be back to his old habits after the race.

The brothers have already smashed their target of raising £2,000, but hope to raise more for the charity, which needs around £2.5million per year to operate, proving medical care by air and land at life-threatening emergencies in the East of England.
