The museum wants local people to get involved in developing, improving and expanding the building over the next 10 years. It is holding a public meeting at the town hall on August 23, starting at 6pm, where people will be able to have an initial say. Stuart Orme, curator, said: As the museum is now run by an independent charitable trust, we want to create a vision for what the museum will look like in 2028, and a detailed plan for the next five years for us to work to try and achieve this. This is not only essential for us to maintain museum accreditation, our professional standard, but to work out what we want to do, how were going to do it, and what resources people, money and space - we need to achieve it successfully. To help put this together, wed like to collate everyones ideas and views.
