THE funerals of two young men killed in a road accident in Elsworth will take place this week.
THE funerals of two young men killed in a road accident in Elsworth will take place this week.
Darryl Townsend and Harry Williams, both of Stirling Road, St Ives, died when their car left the road and hit a tree in Rogues Lane on Saturday, December 11.
A funeral service for Darryl, 20, will be held at 1pm on Thursday at All Saints’ Church, St Ives, with refreshments afterwards at the Royal British Legion Club in St Ives.
Seventeen-year-old Harry’s funeral will take place at noon on Friday, also at All Saints’ Church, and will be followed by a gathering at Hemingford Pavilion for a celebration of his life.
Harry’s family have requested only family flowers, and for the family to wear black. Everyone else has been asked to wear a football shirt in memory of Harry.
Donations in memory of both Darryl and Harry can be made through Dennis Easton Funeral Services in St Ives.

Money received on behalf of Darryl will be donated to Magpas, the emergency medical charity that attended the accident site.
Harry’s family have nominated the Movember Foundation, which raises money for prostate cancer awareness. Harry had been a keen fundraiser, having participated in the Movember campaign himself this year, and was in training to complete a sponsored triathlon to raise even more money for the cause.
Donations to the charity have already been mounting up, with Wheatfields School collecting �425, St Ivo School, where Harry was a sixth-form student, raising �450, and St Ives Town Football Club raising more than �800.
