Thousands of people were transported back in time on Saturday and Sunday as Wood Lane Camp in Ramsey hosted its annual 1940s weekend.
Now in its 13th year, the event showcased vintage cars, dancing, dresses and, for the first time, a bunker experience with replica smells and sounds.
Ramsey 1940s committee vice chairman, Jayne Mann said: “The whole weekend went real well. Despite the rain on Saturday people came out and we had a record crown on Sunday – it was very busy. Everyone I have spoken to have been very happy with the weekend.”
This year the battle re-enactment site was given a front-line feel with trenches being dug out for visitors to explore.
Throughout the weekend there were a host of vintage singers to delight the crowds along with an array of cars and military vehicles and stalls with antiques and world war fashion.
“Again we also had the Jones’ Butchers Van from Dad’s Army which I was really popular, I think because of the film that was out earlier this year,” added Jayne.
