There was a weekend of celebrations around the country as the Queen marked her 90th birthday with two days of festivities.
On Saturday, the Queen attended the Trooping of the Colour parade, processing along the Mall in a horse-drawn carriage as well-wishers gathered.
The following day, the monarch and other members of the royal family joined guests at the Patron’s Lunch, where thousands of guests were invited to enjoy a picnic lunch to mark the occasion.
The Queen then appeared with her family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace to watch a parade pass by.
Meanwhile, around the country, people enjoyed their own smaller-scale celebrations, including plenty of events in Huntingdonshire.
At Warboys Primary School, more than 250 children enjoyed an afternoon tea on Friday to celebrate the occasion.
Competitions were held for best crown, best handwriting and tastiest cakes as the children enjoyed the sunshine out in the school playground.
Children in years 3, 4, and 5 also celebrated the occasion by making model corgis.
Youngsters at Crosshall Nursery, in St Neots, also took part in the royal celebration as dozens donned their best crowns which they made with help of parents at home.
During the morning and afternoon sessions the children took part in a crown parade where they showcased their works of art to parents, staff and teachers.
Children also tucked into cake that was decorated with 90 on the top in icing.
In Godmanchester, friends and neighbours living in Jarwood Walk and Comben Drive braved the rain to hold a barbecue and party. Thankfully, guests had some marquees to shelter under while the worst of the weather passed.
Students from Huntingdon’s Generations Dance Academy were lucky enough to be selected as one of only 25 schools in the UK to represent the Royal Academy of Dance to take part in a parade along the Mall on Sunday.
Nine students, Lauren Burford, Victoria Gibbons, Alice Maylor, Katie MacFarlane, Rebecca Gibbons, Texas-Rose Allard, Sophie Wallis, Emily Kett, Freya Clark and principal Wendy Burke were part of the 300 dancers who were involved overall.
The parade was themed around each decade of the Queen’s rule and Generations were representing the 1970s, with music from Star Wars amongst others.
In Brampton, pupils from the village primary school celebrated the special event with their parents and family members at a picnic organised by teachers and staff at the school.
During the picnic, that took place on the school field, the children tucked into special lunchtime treats made by the school’s kitchen and parents while playing games with friends.
As a special treat, the youngsters also had a non-uniform day.
In Huntingdon, residents in Tennis Court Avenue managed to ignore the rain thanks to plenty of food and games on offer.
Organised by Vanessa Ellington, the day saw neighbours gather under bunting and flags, with tennis, swing ball and even a sandpit for children to enjoy.
