A former parish clerk has admitted fraud totalling £56,756.39.
Joanna Sharp, 28, of Hill Close, Brington, who was employed by Alconbury Parish Council, appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday. She pleaded guilty to committing fraud to make a gain for herself and abusing her position as parish clerk by taking money without authorisation and producing false financial documentation.
She denied a second charge, which was subsequently dropped by the prosecution, that she wilfully misconducted herself in her position as clerk.
Sharp was released on bail and the case was adjourned.
Psychological reports will be compiled ahead of her sentencing at Peterborough Crown Court on March 7.
