A Black and White Formal Ball is being held to raise funds for Hinchingbrooke Hospital Special Care baby unit

Our names are Lily and Noah Hicks and we made an early arrival into the world in May 2010.

Born at just 32 weeks we were eight weeks earlier than planned. Noah weighed a tiny 3lb 13oz and Lily just 4lb 3oz.

We were lucky enough to be under the exceptional care of the doctors and nurses at the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon and after just four weeks we were able to go home.

Annually the unit cares for approximately 250 babies – mainly from Huntingdonshire - that have either been born prematurely or term babies that need extra monitoring following birth.

They have supported so many families through the SCBU journey that it is a cause close to so many people’s hearts.

As a thank you for the outstanding care we received and to support the unit in the future, our mum and dad – Teresa and Dan - are organising a Black & White Formal Ball on April 2, 2010, at Cambridge Golf & Conference Centre, Hemingford Abbots .

Funds raised by the event will go towards The Hunts Post New Life Appeal which is buying new equipment to support the care of future babies treated on the unit.

The evening includes a three course meal and entertainment from the band Charlie & the Funk Factory. There will also be the chance to win some fantastic prizes in the grand raffle and take part in the auction. Tickets are 35 per person and are available NOW!

Cash and cheques (payable to GBS RE Hinchingbrooke Charity – New Life Appeal) are accepted by The Hunts Post, 30 High Street, Huntingdon, Cambs, PE29 3TB. Please mark your envelope with ‘SCBU Ball’ and do not post cash. Ensure upon making payment that you state the number of tickets you require. There is a table plan for the event and groups will be seated together. If there are any problems you will be notified. The event will host 120 people, so to avoid disappointment make sure you buy your tickets today!
