The agency has issued flood alerts for Alconbury and Ellington Brooks, with heavy rain overnight into Wednesday causes water levels to rise rapidly. A spokesman for the agency said: Alconbury and Ellington Brooks are reacting to the rain and are expected to rise throughout the day. There may be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river. We expect the river to remain high throughout today though no flooding to properties is forecast and warnings are not expected to be issued. Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions. We are constantly monitoring river levels and have staff in the area checking for and clearing blockages in this location. Water levels in the area are expected to remain high for the next 24 houyrs. An alert is also in place for the River Kym and tributaries, located near Kimbolton. The spokesman added: Locations most at risk are Rivers Kym and Til and the Riseley Brook.
