The alpacas were put in the field, in Low Road, Fenstanton, to graze yesterday, but the owners Houghton Hall Alpacas became worried when the field flooded after torrential rain throughout the weekend. Mick George, owner of Houghton Hall Alpacas, said: We had put the alpacas out to graze in the field in Low Road. When we saw the field had flooded, we moved them into the road to safety. Theyre all ok and all down in Houghton. A police spokesman said: We assisted with moving around 100 Alpaca from a flooded field off Low Road, Fenstanton, at 4am today. The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the River Great Ouse from St Neots, through to St Ives. A spokesman said: The situation is improving as river levels continue to fall.
