Two crews from Ramsey and another from Chatteris were sent to Benwick Road at 11.23am after a fire started in a barn, measuring 10m by 12m. Within five minutes of arriving the first crew on scene requested back up from another crew and a water carrier and at 11.42am, firefighters had created a fire break between buildings. Ten minutes later, the crews contacted headquarters to say they were having problems locating water supply and used water from a flooded field to put out the flames by 12.19pm. Fire investigators said the cause of fire was accidental by person. The building is unsafe due to the roof collapsing. Crews were back at base by 1.40pm.
