The crew at Huntingdon Fire Station are getting behind the National Lottery’s hunt for the missing winner of a £1million prize from a ticket bought in Huntingdonshire.

With bonfire night approaching the crew are busy reminding people to safely enjoy the event but, in an attempt to avoid seeing the £1million prize ‘go up in smoke’ they are also calling on local people to spread the word and check their tickets from the Lotto draw on Saturday, October 10.

The winning ticket bears the winning Lotto Millionaire Raffle code RUBY 4778 2862 and the deadline to claim is April 7, 2016.

But the fire crew are particularly keen to put some rocket fuel into the search because in the first 30 days after a National Lottery draw, Camelot can pay out on a lost or destroyed ticket if the player has submitted a claim in writing.

Watch commander Greg Brown, of Huntingdon blue watch said, “We’ve checked that this rather dapper ‘guy’ is not stuffed with the winning ticket, but it’s good to know that should someone have lost the winning ticket from the draw – or used it to stuff their guy - they’ve still just got time to make a claim in writing. They have until Monday, November 9.”

As part of the ongoing search for the lucky ticket-holder, The National Lottery will also be deploying an ‘Amnesia Patrol’ across the district on Friday, November 6.

The Amnesia Patrol will continue the good work of the Huntingdon Fire Station crew, reminding everyone they meet to spread the word and double-check their Lotto tickets.

Anyone who has any queries or who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000 / 0844 338 7551 or email help@national-lottery.co.uk
