ONE person had to be cut free after a two-vehicle crash near Huntingdon last night (Monday).

Paramedics called for back up from the police, fire service and Highways Agency just after 5pm when they arrived at the crash between Monk’s and Bevill’s Woods, near Alconbury Hill.

The road, off the B1090, was closed for nearly two hours while firefighters released the trapped person. Ambulance crews treated another person injured in the crash.

It is believed that both people suffered slight injuries and were taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

The road surface also needed repairing after diesel was spilled.
