THE cause of a fire which spread from a hedge to surrounding buildings in Great Stukeley is as yet unknown.
Firefighters from Huntingdon were called to the site of the blaze at West View at 5.22pm on Friday. They found the hedge and a fence well-alight.
It took them more than three hours to put out the fire. Investigations into the cause are continuing.
A meal which was left to cook unattended was the cause of a fire in Sawtry on Sunday evening.
A crew from Sawtry and one from Yaxley attended the fire in Elm Way at 6.30pm. They used two breathing apparatus and one house reel to put out the flames. Firefighters were called to a house fire in Limes Road, Hardwick at 6pm on Sunday and a crew from St Ives attended a chimney fire at The Bank, Somersham at 5pm on Saturday.
