More than 25 firefighters have been called to Huntingdon Racecourse to tackle a blaze in one of the stands.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said its crews had been called at about 2.40pm today (Monday) following reports that a fire had started in the grandstand.
The spokesman added that the building had been safely evacuated. Pictures from the scene show smoke billowing from one of the buildings while staff look on.
The fire was extinguished by about 5pm.
The spokesman said: “The fire at the racecourse in Huntingdon is out and crews are ensuring the area is safe and will soon be leaving the scene. An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the fire”
