An investigation has started into the cause of a blaze which caused major damage to a block of retirement flats in Huntingdon on Friday.
A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said that all the occupants of the building were accounted for and no-one had been injured.
He said the occupants of the building - Elm Tree Court operated by McCarthy and Stone - had all been found temporary accommodation.
The spokesman said the fire appeared to have started close to a communal area on the fourth floor. The fire had caused extensive damage and there had been further damage from water used to extinguish the blaze.
Elm Tree Court is close to the town’s station and was built recently on the site of the former Territorial pub.
Firefightes came from as far away as Peterborough to tackle the fire.
Police closed the ring road at the George Street and Ermine Street junctions and set up diversions.
