MORE than 20 people were arrested at the Secret Garden Party this year.

Cambridgeshire police detained 21 festival-goers - one of them female - over the four-day music and art event that started on Thursday.

Despite there were 9,000 more revellers the number of crimes has fallen at the festival compared to last year, when 31 people had been arrested - mainly for drug-related cases.

In 2011 there were 246 incidents recorded by police, but so far the force has not released the number for the weekend's event.

Officers arrested 12 people for drugs offences, two for affray, two for assault who face no further action, two for theft dealt with restorative justice, one for drink driving, one was wanted by another force and one who was on prison recall.

A police spokesman said the event went well for them and passed mainly without incident. He added that five people were still in custody.
