This year’s Sawtry Scarecrow Festival was hailed a big success by organisers.
A host of weird and wonderful creations appeared in front gardens around the village, with about 20 residents taking part in the annual event.
A trail was created and villagers were able to collect a map and enjoy a tour of all the scarecrows on display.
Councillor Delia Riddle, of Sawtry Parish Council, said: “The kids love going around and seeing all the scarecrows, it’s just amazing how many people go and do the trail.
“You just never know what you are going to get and it provides a lot of fun for everybody.”
Cllr Riddle said the event started out as “a bit of a different idea” but had taken off in recent years as villagers had lent it their support.
“It’s done for fun, there is no judging or prizes,” she added.
