A RETIRED farmer who shot himself outside his Warboys home had suffered from depression, an inquest has heard.

Peter Morris, 73, of Chatteris Road, was found in the drove outside his home on July 10 this year. A post mortem examination revealed he died as a result of massive injuries to his head.

PC Carol Rose, who attended the scene, gave evidence at the inquest in Huntingdon on Thursday. She said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Morris’s death.

South and West Cambridgeshire coroner Dr Sam Bass recorded that Mr Morris took his own life while suffering from a depressive illness.
