A true friendship is where you would do anything for each other ... and two Eynesbury pals are proving just that by walking over hot coals together.

Jillian Hall, 43, of Barnard Close, and Helen Robson, 44, of Criccieth Way, will join forces to tiptoe across scorching rocks to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity.

In October last year, Mrs Hall was diagnosed with a brain tumour after opticians at Adlam & Coomber in St Neots spotted that something was gravely wrong with her.

Fortunately, the operation to remove the growth was successful and the tumour was benign.

Ahead of the challenge in Hockley Heath, Solihull, on March 22, donations have flooded in and the pair have already topped their initial target of £300, raising £1,385 for the charity. However, they’re now setting their sights even higher and are hoping to reach the £1,500 mark.

Mrs Hall said: “I feel so grateful to the opticians as they were so quick off the mark and Helen was fantastic – from me being diagnosed through to my operation, she’s been a real rock like a lot of my family and friends.

“Walking over hot coals is nothing compared to what I have been through over the last few months.”
